Summer days

I gave all my married children gift certificates to the Anniversary Inn with the promise that I would watch their children while gone.  So it was Marshall and Danielles week-end.  We had such a good time.  We roasted hot dogs and marshmellows over a camp fire and forgot to get pictures.  The kids were very good and I enjoyed having them at my home.

The next day Kunane came over and so did all the local grandkids.  The children never tire of playing with him.  The little one on the bottom is Clay and then Tylee.

Now we have added Avery to the top.

Tylee talked Kunane into making a rope swing in his back yard.  It has been such a hit.  Everyone could go so high.  I think this is Gage but not positive.

Tenaya was scared to get on the swing and didn't for a long time.  Then I told her that Kunane would only push her as high as she wanted to go.  She faced her fears and did.  At first she just went really slow and not very high.  But by the end of the day she was yelling "Higher, Higher".

Everyone is looking at the top because they think there are branches that is keeping them from swinging really high.

As you can see Kunane  is wrapped around all these little kids finger.  He will do anything they ask.  So up he goes with his trusty saw and proceeds to take down the branches that are holding everyone from go super, super high.

It was nice having Kellen out here with us.  He actually had a good time too.  He really enjoyed with the kids.

Gage being 'Cool Joe" as usual only this time he has the props.

When Tenaya first looked at this picture she said "Look Kunane is going to sling shot Clay into the air".  After I looked I agreed, it did look just like that.

Now this is a for real laugh.  Isn't it beautiful.  I don't even remember what Tanner was laughing about but it sure was one happy guy.  Gotta love it!!!

Yellowstone 2012

Lanessa wanted to take a mini vacation since she never leaves the house except to go to work.  So we decided to go to Yellowstone.  We begged Kunane to drive us and he graciouly accepted.  Later Clay and Gage got added to the group.  In the beginning we didn't know anything about Bear World but after doing some research we felt price would be worth it for the kids.  This was a very emotional trip for me as once again I am reminded that my children are all grown up.  Kunane, me, Davinn and Channing have gone to Yellowstone two different times and we have so many fun memories.  It was so sad for me to not have them with me, knowing that they probably never will be with me again in Yellowstone.  I realize all of this is dumb but for me it is all part of the empty nest thingy.  All in all though we had a real nice time.  I thought the kids were bored but when ask they never said anything bad about the trip.  We loved our cabin and Bear World the most.

The best part of Bear World is that you don't have to look for the animals.  They are just there.  The animals are obviously not wild but the kids didn't care.

I had so many bear pictures that is was hard to pick and choose which ones to use.  I knew I couldn't put in 25 pictures of bears though.

We really could have stayed all day just petting the animals.  They never tired of it, we did!!

\This beautiful picture is of Mesa Falls.  I had so many beautiful pictures but again had to pick the best one.

We loved our cabin.  We stayed in Island Park.  The cabin had so many cute things.  The kids loved being there and they always ask if they could go to the cabin.

\
Kunane was a sweetheart and took us all out to breakfast.  I think he wasn't just being sweet he just wanted more to eat than toast and chocolate milk.  This place was really good and all homemade.

This is bubbling mud at Yellowstone.  I wish the video part would work cause I have such good pictures.

This was one of the funnest parts of the trip.  We let the kids swim in the Madison River.  It was so perfect cause the water was so shallow and just fast enough that they could float down it.

This is sorta a rock made from chemicals.  It is in Yellowstone and a beautiful creation.  Pictures do not do this justice.

On our way home we stopped several times to eat or to let the kids just play and get the kinks out.  Clay drank 4 milks at one setting.  It could have drank more but I was so scared of him throwing up in the truck that I made him stop.

Gage brought a stick with him so that he would make a sword or a fishing pole.  He is attempting to whittle this stick--what a cutie.
